SeQent Releases FirstPAGE Support for Motorola Solutions WAVE PTX

SeQent introduces a groundbreaking FirstPAGE Link, a unique solution that supports the voice announcement of alarms & events on smartphones equipped with Motorola Solutions WAVE PTX smartphones and any connected MOTOTRBO radio systems. This innovative product allows any FirstPAGE message to be seamlessly converted to a voice announcement and directed to a WAVE PTX talk group, revolutionizing the way alarms and events are communicated.

London, Ontario, May 2024 —SeQent has just released a new FirstPAGE protocol extension supporting Motorola Solutions WAVE PTX.

Today, SeQent announced the release of a new product, FirstPAGE Link for WAVE PTX. This latest expansion of the FirstPAGE product line allows all WAVE PTX devices to receive voice announcements of manufacturing alarms and events. WAVE PTX also supports connectivity with Motorola Solutions MOTOTRBO 2-way radios, which can also mirror this audio to connected MOTOTRBO talk groups. This enables our customers to equip their staff with the most appropriate device, smartphones or 2-way radios, allowing both to fully participate in receiving voice announcements of manufacturing events.

SeQent is the first Motorola Solutions partner to add support for the new WAVE PTX platform.

“When our partner Motorola Solutions first announced the new WAVE PTX, SeQent expressed interest in integrating as we had manufacturing customers using the original WAVE 5000 solution. Implemented as a FirstPAGE Link, the WAVE PTX support is an optional add-on to FirstPAGE Server, extending its text messaging capability to allow for talk group control and high-volume text-to-speech conversion of alarm messages. Working closely with Motorola Solutions engineering, SeQent was able to bring this new product to market in a few months. As the industrial and manufacturing space evolves quickly post-pandemic, SeQent’s solutions must have extensive support for as many messaging devices and services as possible. Manufacturing management is looking to consolidate devices as much as possible, and the WAVE PTX smartphone solution, with its native bridge to traditional 2-way radios, is a natural choice.” says Scott Burns, Chief Technology Officer at SeQent.
