At SeQent, we are committed to protecting your privacy and safeguarding your personal, business, and financial information. This Privacy Policy discloses the privacy practices for SeQent Industrial Automation Software, our website (https://www.SeQent.com), and other online applications that link to this Policy, including our Customer Care and Dealer Care portals.
SeQent is a Canadian corporation headquartered in London, Ontario, serving customers primarily in Canada and the United States. This Policy is designed to comply with Canada’s federal private sector privacy legislation (PIPEDA), Quebec’s Act Respecting the Protection of Personal Information in the Private Sector (Law 25), and applicable provincial privacy laws.

2. Information We Collect
Personal Information
Personal Information is information that can be used to identify and contact you. This includes information such as your name, email address, mailing address, telephone number, and business information (company name, job title).
Non-Personal Information
Non-Personal Information includes technical data such as browser type, device type, operating system, pages visited, and referring URLs. We use this information to improve our website, products, and services.
How We Collect Information
We may collect information:
- When you visit our website and/or use our online applications
- When you voluntarily provide personal data through contact forms, demo requests, or account registration
- When personal data is provided to us by the company you work for

- When you register for or attend a webinar or event

We use your personal information only for the purposes identified at or before the time of collection. These purposes include:
- Customer Service: To respond to specific requests or inquiries and to deliver requested products or services
- Communication: To communicate with you about products, services, events, and business partners you may be interested in, via email, mail, or telephone
- Account Creation: To create and manage access to our Customer Care or Dealer Care portals
- Marketing and CRM: To manage our relationship with you through our CRM system and email marketing platform HubSpot. Every promotional communication will include an unsubscribe link
- Analytics: To understand how visitors interact with our website and improve the user experience
4. Cookies and Digital Markers
We use cookies and similar technologies on our website.
In accordance with Quebec’s Law 25, our website is configured to provide the highest level of privacy by default. Non-essential cookies (Analytics and Advertising/targeting) are disabled until you actively choose to enable them through our consent banner.
When you first visit, you will be presented with a consent notice allowing you to select which categories you accept: Necessary (always active), Analytics and Advertising/targeting. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for anonymous usage statistics; data is stored on Google servers in the United States. You can manage or withdraw your cookie consent at any time via the banner on our website or your browser settings.
5. Cross-Border Data Transfers
SeQent is headquartered in Canada. Some of our service providers, including Google LLC (Google Analytics 4) and HubSpot, are based in the United States and may process your personal information there. We take steps to ensure transferred data receives comparable protection through contractual agreements. Quebec residents: we have conducted privacy impact assessments for these transfers as required under Law 25.
6. Information Sharing
We will not disclose or sell your personal information without your consent unless permitted or required by law. Information is shared with third parties only as necessary to fulfill your request, deliver services on our behalf (such as email marketing through HubSpot, or comply with legal obligations. We will only send you promotional communications if you have provided your consent to receive them. You may withdraw this consent at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every promotional email. We may still contact you regarding changes to this Policy or matters directly related to a service we are providing to you.
7. Your Privacy Rights
You have the right to access, correct, and, in certain circumstances, request erasure of your personal information. You may also withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send. Quebec residents have additional rights under Law 25, including data portability and de-indexation of information that could cause serious injury. If you exercise your right to data portability, we will provide your personal information in a structured, commonly used format (such as CSV) within 30 days of your request.
To exercise any of these rights, contact our Privacy Officer (Section 1). We will respond within 30 days as required by applicable law.
If you are not satisfied with our response, we will inform you of your options, including the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, for Quebec residents, the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec (CAI). Our Privacy Officer will acknowledge receipt of all complaints promptly, investigate the matter, and communicate the outcome and any corrective actions taken.
8. Children’s Privacy
Our products and services are not directed at individuals under the age of 14. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14. In accordance with Quebec’s Law 25, if we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 14 without verified parental or guardian consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact our Privacy Officer (Section 1).
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes collected or as required by law. General guidelines: contact inquiries and demo requests are retained for 3 years; customer account records for the duration of the relationship plus 7 years; marketing consent records for 3 years; and GA4 analytics data for up to 14 months. When no longer required, information is securely destroyed or anonymized.
10. Data Security
SeQent implements security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold. All employees are required to abide by this Policy and maintain the confidentiality of customer information. In the event of a breach creating a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and, where required, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and/or Quebec’s Commission d’accès à l’information (CAI).
11. U.S. Residents
SeQent also serves customers in the United States. If you are a U.S. resident and believe you have rights under your state’s privacy law, please contact our Privacy Officer (Section 1) and we will work to address your request in accordance with applicable law.
12. Third-Party Links
Our website contains links to third-party sites and may include embedded content. These sites may collect data and use cookies independently of SeQent. We are not responsible for their privacy practices and encourage you to review their privacy statements.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with a revised “Last Updated” date. Material changes will be communicated by email or prominent notice on our website.
